Meet Kamal — From Zero Korean to Top Scorer
When Kamal Perera from Colombo first enrolled in MNJ-TOPIK, he didn't know a single Korean word. Six months later, he scored an incredible 190 out of 200 on the EPS-TOPIK exam. Here is his story.
The Starting Point
"I was completely lost at first," Kamal recalls. "The Korean alphabet looked impossible to me. But I told myself — if thousands of people can learn this, so can I."
The Study Routine
Kamal studied 2 hours every morning before work and 1 hour before bed. He focused on:
- 30 new vocabulary words every day
- 2 listening practice sessions daily
- 1 full mock exam every weekend
- Reviewing all wrong answers thoroughly
The MNJ-TOPIK Advantage
"The CBT practice system was a game-changer," says Kamal. "Real exam conditions with timer, the same interface — when I sat for the actual exam, it felt familiar."
Exam Day
"I was nervous, but prepared. I finished the reading section with 15 minutes to spare because I had practiced speed reading. The listening section was smoother than I expected."
Advice for Future Students
Kamal's top advice: "Don't skip a single day of practice. Even 30 minutes on a busy day is better than nothing. And always review your mistakes — that's where the real learning happens."
Results
Final Score: 190/200 (Reading: 96/100, Listening: 94/100). Kamal is now working in South Korea at an electronics manufacturing company.
